TWO Blue top tubes {buffered sodium citrate 3.2%)

Specimen Collection / Processing Instructions

Please contact Incyte Client Services or your marketing representative to arrange for immediate and direct delivery to Sacred Heart Medical Center Coagulation Department. Collect two 3-mL tubes citrated whole blood. Keep samples at room temperature. 

Minimum Sample Volume

Two 3 ml tubes, preferred volume is 6 ml whole blood.

Unacceptable Specimen Conditions

Samples sent to lab via pneumatic tube system, refrigerated, centrifuged, EDTA (lavender top tube), heparin (green tip tube) and samples not received in lab within 3 hours of collection.

Limitations

For pediatric draws, in some cases 1 properly filled. dedicated 3 ml blue top may be acceptable, although not preferred. Note: Recollection will be needed if this sample volume is inadequate to complete required testing.
